ABOUT
I’m Sonyta - a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, exercise therapist, and founder of Align Fitness & Health. Fitness isn’t just my career - it’s my passion. My passion comes from experiencing my own fitness journey, which has changed my life for the better. I grew up as an athlete, playing sports all year round (basektball, volleyball, track..) but had anorexia, and eating disorders. In my early adult years, I became depressed and binge-ate until gaining 190lbs, and that day I knew things had to change. Fitness and movement saved my life.
My purpose is help others find their own fullest potential and be the best version of themselves, physically and mentally. With experiencing my own array of struggles from eating disorders, depression, body image issues, hormonal imbalance and weight gain - my goal is to show that you are not alone in your fitness journey and that you are capable of change.
Before entering the fitness industry, I worked as a kinesiologist for four years after earning my Bachelor’s in Human Kinetics (BHK). This experience gave me a deep understanding of the human body, which I now use to deliver science-based, personalized coaching.
Now, with over five years in the fitness industry, I help clients of all ages transform their lives through movement, mindset, and strength. I specialize in weight management, nutrition coaching, fat loss, and helping people find themselves while building better habits and sustainable results. My approach integrates exercise therapy, nutrition, and strength & conditioning to support your unique goals.
